You can requite to an image the shape you like by:
- insert epitome
- Create shape that y'all want to give to the epitome, and put information technology in a higher place the epitome
- Select both objects
- Right-click on them, "shapes" -> "intersect"

As far as I know, this has non been possible before, and according to relevant documentation at that place are no such feature in LibreOffice.
Yous probably need to use a tertiary party software to apply rounded edges.
Nonetheless, based of my noesis this is achievable in the electric current OpenOffice. You might want to requite it a shot :)
